MassEcon Announces Winners of 2013 Team Massachusetts Economic Impact Awards

athenahealth, Hamilton Storage Technologies, Unum, Red Hat, and Lenox Tools are among winners that are adding jobs and investment from each region of state

 Watertown, Massachusetts, October 10, 2013MassEcon  today announced its Tenth Annual Team Massachusetts Economic Impact Award winners in preparation for its November 26th Awards Luncheon, which will take place at the Renaissance Waterfront Hotel in Boston. RBS Citizens is the Presenting Sponsor. Companies from across the Commonwealth will be recognized for their outstanding contributions to the Massachusetts economy. Over 400 business and community leaders are expected to attend the November event.

The winning companies (listed below), including one “Company to Watch,” were selected after site visits and a reception with their competitors and judges at the UMass Clubwith featured guest, Secretary of Housing and Economic Development, Greg Bialecki.The reception enabled senior executives from the companies to present their attributes in the categories of job growth, facility expansion, investment, and community involvement since January 1, 2012. Finalists competed on a regional basis, defined as West, Central, Southeast, Northeast, and Greater Boston.

“The Massachusetts Economic Impact Award winners have made significant contributions to our state’s economy and have spurred regional development throughout the Commonwealth,” said Secretary of Housing and Economic Development Greg Bialecki. “I applaud these companies for their investment and look forward to our ongoing partnership as they continue to expand and create jobs here in Massachusetts.”
