Massachusetts Ambassadors Welcome Thirteen Companies to the State at 3rd Annual Corporate Welcome

Boston, MA, March 30, 2011 – MassEcon, the Massachusetts Alliance for Economic Development, and its network of Massachusetts Ambassadors, are welcoming thirteen companies new to the state at the Third Annual Corporate Welcome Reception. The reception at Citizens Bank in Boston will feature remarks from Secretary of Housing and Economic Development Greg Bialecki, as well as the President of Citizens Bank, Massachusetts, Jerry Sargent. Sargent, who serves on the Board of MassEcon, is also active in MassEcon’s Massachusetts Ambassadors Program, a network of senior executives who share a common interest in enhancing the state’s ability to retain and attract business.

Thirteen companies will be welcomed as new additions to the Commonwealth’s business landscape. They include Alliance Medical Gas Corporation of Springfield, Altaeros Energies of Cambridge, Backupify of Cambridge, Evaluate Pharmaceuticals of Boston, HitPoint Studios of Hatfield, IntegraGen, Inc. of Cambridge, Mobile Monitor Technologies of Newton, Moms and Jobs of Lowell, Nemucore Medical Innovations of Worcester, Sand9 of Cambridge, Sunovion Pharmaceuticals of Marlborough, TPI Composites of Fall River, and Xenics USA of Beverly. The companies come from all regions of the state and represent a wide variety of industries including renewable energy, biotechnology, information technology, and photonics.

A group of over 130 public and private sector leaders will join Sargent and Secretary Bialecki in welcoming the companies at Wednesday’s reception. “The companies at this event are a wonderful addition to the Commonwealth’s business community. Convening events like this and serving as a resource to new companies is a simple way to support the economic development efforts of the state,” said Sargent.

“MassEcon and its Ambassadors want to say ‘thank you’ to these companies for locating in Massachusetts,” said Susan Houston, Executive Director of MassEcon. “Connecting their senior executives with contacts from the state, academia, and other industries tells these companies that there is a community ready to support their growth.”

“Massachusetts has a proud tradition of innovation, a talented workforce and a competitive business climate,” said Secretary Bialecki. “These diverse and thriving companies recognize the advantages of doing business here, and we look forward to partnering with them to generate the job growth and private investment that are key to building a better, stronger Commonwealth.”
