MA Association of Planning Directors Annual Conference Focuses on Site Selection

Spotlight on ReadyMass 100 Portfolio of Shovel-Ready Sites

HYANNIS, MA – Doug Kehlhem, Senior Director at MassEcon, delivered a presentation on the site selection process and getting sites ready for development at today’s MA Association of Planning Directors Annual Conference, along with MassEcon members Chris Steele, President of Investment Consulting Associates, and Russ Burke, Director of Planning at BSC Group.

Their presentation highlighted MassEcon’s ReadyMass 100 initiative and how communities in attendance can participate. The ReadyMass100 is a portfolio of sites in Massachusetts that have been evaluated by a team of real estate experts and state partners and are certified for immediate occupancy or development. The properties have met key criteria relating to infrastructure, permitting, size and readiness.

“It’s important for city and municipal planning directors across the state to know about all the resources available to help them market their premier real estate assets,” said Kehlhem.

“The panel explored the types of preliminary site assessment and evaluations performed by developers and users to assist planners in better positioning properties targeted for development,” added Burke.

“We also want to make sure that municipalities and public officials learn as much as they can about how companies make these decisions, so they can be proactive and prepared,” Steele added.
