Featured Speaker: Lisa Strout, MA Film Office Director
Lisa Strout has been at the helm of the Massachusetts Film Office since June of 2011, overseeing more than 300 major film and television productions during her tenure. She was formerly the director of the New Mexico Film Office for nearly a decade during New Mexico’s initial production boom. Lisa has 41 years of experience in the film industry, including 20 years in film production and 21 as a Film Commissioner. As a location manager her credits include: Mystic Pizza, Falling Down, Dante’s Peak, Room with a View, to name a few. Additionally, Lisa managed the New York City offices of Merchant Ivory Productions for two years. Today, Lisa is working hard to create jobs and economic opportunities, and to build an inclusive and sustainable film industry within the Commonwealth -for the thousands of Massachusetts residents currently working in and with the industry, and the generations to come.

Like so many across the globe, due to Covid-19, MassEcon is not working from the office for the foreseeable future, but we’re still up and running. With much consideration, we will not be holding in-person meetings until at least mid-July, but will be holding committee meetings via conference call, strategizing on how to bring you programming and business opportunities, and building our membership.
