Physik Instrumente (PI) is a privately held company that manufactures highly specialized automation equipment, motion control systems and components, and other specialized hardware used in research labs and manufacturing facilities worldwide. The privately held company opened its new U.S. headquarters and flagship manufacturing facility in a 140K SF space in Shrewsbury to house its office, lab, and manufacturing space for U.S. operations. PI invested more than $10 million in the construction of the new facility and plans to add an additional 100 jobs over the next three to five years. PI works closely with a number of local technical high schools and colleges to provide internship opportunities to students who are pursuing engineering or other technical degrees and its employees are active in the local communities, participating in several fundraisers and drives to support local charities.
