Peter Abair is CEO of the Massachusetts Alliance for Economic Development and the Executive Director of the Massachusetts Economic Development Foundation, collectively known as MassEcon. He joined MassEcon after serving as Executive Director of the MassBioEd Foundation and Director of Economic and Global Affairs at MassBio. He previously served the Commonwealth of Massachusetts in several positions, including: Director of the Massachusetts Department of Economic Development, Massachusetts Office of Business Development, Associate Director of the Massachusetts Department of Housing and Community Development, Director of Governor Cellucci’s office in western Massachusetts, and in the Massachusetts Executive Office of Education. He began his career on the Washington, D.C. staff of the late Congressman Silvio O. Conte. Peter holds a B.A. in History and International Relations from Boston University and a M.A. in Public Policy and Administration from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst. He resides in Sudbury with his family. He recently authored Each Hath a Hand, an historic fiction on the outbreak of the American Revolution in Massachusetts.
