Seven Re-elected; Board Officers Also Chosen
BOSTON, MA – Two new Directors were elected to the MassEcon board at yesterday’s Annual Meeting, along with the re-election of seven board members and six Directors named as Officers and Executive Committee members. The new Directors elected to the Board of the Watertown-based nonprofit organization are James Boudrot, Executive Vice President, Principal at Hunneman and Odile Smith, Vice President and Site Head at Bristol Myers Squibb. Nutter was the host sponsor, and Bowditch and VHB were associated sponsors of the event.
Re-elected to the board are Dan Rivera, President and CEO at MassDevelopment; Geoff Howell, Partner at DLA Piper, LLP; Mike Vedovelli, Manager Community Relations- Massachusetts at Eversource; Dorrian Fragola, Senior Vice President, Marketing and Business Development at Janitronics Building Services; Denise McGeough, Senior Vice President at Citizens; Chris Steele, President and CEO at EBP; and Lauren Liss, Special Counsel at Greenberg Traurig.
In addition to being elected to the Executive Committee, the following were elected to these Officer positions: Bonnie Sullivan, Vice President at Middlesex Savings Bank, was elected Chair of the Board; Fragola was elected Vice Chair. Mike Scott, Co-Managing Partner at Nutter, was elected Treasurer; Howell was elected Clerk; and Doug Landry, Senior Associate | Boston Office Lead at Langan was elected Assistant Clerk. McGeough is Immediate Past Chair.
MassEcon’s Founding Executive Director Susan Houston, who handed the leadership baton to Pete Abair in 2019, attended the event. “MassEcon remains a unique non-profit delivering statewide economic development services in collaboration with Team Massachusetts,” stated Pete Abair, Executive Director. “In our 30th year, we pause to thank our many civic-minded members and sponsors over the years for their critical support for our common mission.”
Since its inception in 1993, MassEcon has assisted with more than 260 project wins that have accounted for more than 25.5 million square feet and 35,000 jobs throughout the Commonwealth. The 2023 highlights were reviewed by board members included over 70 MassEcon-assisted site location projects, with these moving to or expanding in Massachusetts, so far, totaling more than 1 million square feet and 1,915 jobs:
