Alexion is a global pharmaceutical company focused on serving patients and families affected by rare diseases and will be relocating its global headquarters from New Haven, Connecticut to Boston in June 2018. The Boston Seaport location will house more than 400 employees.

Global sports footwear brand ASICS established its first Creation Studio in Boston in February 2018. The company’s 19K SF space is now home to 75 employees.

 

 

Colombian airlines company Avianca Airlines began serving nonstop flights between Boston and Bogota in June 2017 and has 11 employees working at Logan International Airport.

 

CELLINK, a global leader in bioprinting technology, expanded from Sweden to establish its U.S. headquarters in Cambridge in May 2017, marking the company’s first presence in Massachusetts. The company is the first in the world to commercialize a universal bioink enabling scientists to print living human tissues.

CILcare, a world leader in R&D services specializing in hearing and otic disorders, expanded from France, establishing its first presence in Massachusetts with a lab space in Cambridge and office space in Lexington in alliance with the state-of-the-art biomedical research institute CBSET.

 

 

 

A 50K SF space in Canton became the first Massachusetts home to German
pharmaceutical company Fresenius Kabi Compounding and 42 employees in November 2017.

 

 

Histo-Scientific Research Laboratories, a histology and pathology company, expanded from Virginia to Worcester in January 2017, bringing 4 employees to Massachusetts.

 

 

In February 2017, California software company iboss established its first Massachusetts presence in Boston which is now home to the company’s North American corporate headquarters and 93 employees.

IndusPAD, a new launch pad for industrial production, relocated from California to its first Massachusetts location,encompassing the two Merrimack Valley communities of Lawrence and Methuen. Starting with 10 employees, the company aims to transform the region through innovation in its Class-A production in textiles, clean-tech, manufacturing, vertical farming, bio-tech, and robotics.

 

Budget airline LEVEL is launching direct flights between Barcelona, Spain and Boston’s Logan International Airport in March 2018.

 

In February 2018, Canadian biotechnology company LexaGene expanded with its first Massachusetts presence in an 18K SF space in Beverly where it houses 26 employees.

 

The Muck Boot company, specializing in footwear, moved its headquarters from Rhode Island to Westwood at the end of 2017. The company’s first Massachusetts location is 16K SF and houses 40 employees.

 

 

 

 

Biotechnology company Mustang Bio, which develops innovative CAR T therapies for oncology, added its first Massachusetts location in Waltham in March 2017. The New York-based company is continuing to expand in the Commonwealth with a 27K SF location for manufacturing at the UMass Medical Science Park in Worcester.

 

 

Pain Qx, a New York-based digital health and software company which developed a method to objectively measure pain in humans by analyzing nerve activity, expanded to establish its first Massachusetts presence in Boston in May 2017.

 

 

Based in Bellevue, Washington, software company Smartsheet, which created a platform that makes organization, communication, and decision-making easier for companies, selected a 20K SF space in Boston’s Leather District in June 2017 for its first presence in Massachusetts to house 120 employees.

 

Spanish company StemTekTherapeutics, which has developed and commercializes proprietary technology to personalize the development and use of cancer medicines, expanded to Cambridge, establishing its first Massachusetts presence in July 2017.

 

Cybecurity company Tufin, based in Israel, established its U.S. headquarters in Boston in October 2017 and added 25 jobs in the Commonwealth.
