While their competition moved manufacturing to from Massachusetts to Malaysia and other low-cost regions, Persimmon Technologies invested in a new world class manufacturing facility in Bedford.  Persimmon Technologies is a leading global supplier of Vacuum Environment Robots for Semiconductor Equipment that makes the world’s most advanced chips. In 2025, Persimmon opened its 142,224 SF world class R&D manufacturing location called the Advanced Technologies Center, representing a consolidation of its Wakefield robot R&D center and robot factory; Tyngsboro motor R&D center and motor factory; and Wilmington warehouse. In 2025, Persimmon hired ~30 new employees and has a diversified employee base with 18% female, and 48% international or minority employees.
